En el año 1974 se inicia en Madrid (E.T.S.A.M.) un cambio radical en la enseñanza del dibujo. Primero se pone énfasis en el hacer, en el dibujar más que en el dibujo... y poco a poco se reduce el dibujar académico dando paso al dibujar "informalista" y al dibujar "constructivista" para acercar a los alumnos al dibujar del "concepción" que practican los arquitectos, no cuando se exhiben, sino cuando proyectan. Esta deriva es costosa y dura, pero progresa a empujones, apoyados por los congresos de Expresión Gráfica y la publicación de la revista EGA. El cambio se sustenta en la aparición sucesiva de reflexiones, estudios y ensayos operativos que refuerzan los fundamentos de esta iniciativa de innovación pedagógica (premiada por la Fundación General de la Universidad el año 2003). Hoy este esfuerzo radical se pierde en un renacer del academicismo = In 1974 the teaching of drawing in the School of Architecture of Madrid at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) underwent a drastic change. The action of drawing was reduced, givin way to "informalists" and "constructivist" drawing, and students got familiar with "conception" drawing used by architects not when they show their work, but when they design architecture. This was a difficult and hard drift, pushed forward by the conferences on Graphic Expression and by the publication of Revista EGA. The change found support in the gradual emergence of thoughts, studies and operational essays reinforcing the fundamentals of this initaitive of pedagogic innovation, awarded by the UPM General Foundation in 2003. The tremendous effor and accomplishement are getting lost today due to the revival of academicism.
